Choosing a Tandem
Way back in 1987, a guy thought he might like a tandem bike to ride with his wife. They lived in a major Canadian city, but could only find one tandem in one store. There was no-one there who could offer any insight into what riding a tandem was like, nor was there any possibility to try it out.
After much debate, the guy bought the thing, hoping it would work out and be fun to ride. He rode it home across town solo, and presented it to his wife. Amazingly, she jumped on and immediately enjoyed it, so much that they still ride tandems 22 years later. That was the owner of PedalSport, then and now.
This is part of why we can relate to folks who are in the early stage of deciding whether they want a tandem, what kind would suit them, and whether they would enjoy it. We offer information, specifications, opinions, test rides by sensitive and experienced staff, and training for beginning tandem riders. We maximize the fun and minimize the worry.
We sell tandems from Co-Motion Cycles, Cannondale and KHS. These cover a large price range, and represent a huge variety of tandem bikes to meet any requirement.
Although we stock more tandems than any other shop in BC, we still find that many of our customers want to special order their dream bike. We walk you through the process of selecting the tandem and components best suited to you. Production and shipping can take a few weeks, so if you are planning a trip to try out your new tandem, let us know in plenty of time.
